Description

A bare excavated surface seen from above, with a diagonal band of packed stones and earth running from upper left to lower right. A dark recess opens at the upper end of the band, and the cut edges of the trench with layered soil run along the top right. Shadows of the photographer and camera fall across the lower left corner.
