Description

A large group of workers, many in white head coverings and light robes, digs in a shallow trench with stone blocks and bare earth exposed. A man in a long dark coat stands at left, and a person kneels in a striped top at the front of the trench. Wheelbarrows, metal buckets, wooden boxes and a sieve lie on the ground, and a line of trees and open fields stretches across the background.

A group of about fifteen workers, several in white headcloths and long robes, stand, kneel and dig among low excavated cuttings and heaps of earth on open ground.
