Stones during excavation at the palace at Vouni

Description
A trench is dug into pale soil, with a rough face of loose stones on the left. In the centre a low wall of packed rubble and small stones runs across the cut, and to the right a stepped block of worked stone rises beside it. A dark heap of excavated earth lies along the top edge, and no people are visible.
