Description

Workers in hats and long dresses stand, kneel and sit among stone blocks and cut walls on a hillside excavation. Narrow rails run across the site, a wheelbarrow stands at right, and a wooden ladder lies flat in the middle ground. Beyond the site, the land falls to a bay of the sea at left, with hills in the distance under a hazy sky.
