Tomb 72 at Marion, stairs during excavation

Description
A flight of steps cut down into the earth rises toward a bright opening at the top of the frame, with steep banks of excavated soil on both sides. The treads are sharply edged and the risers have rough, uneven surfaces. The steps fill most of the picture, and the lower part shows a broad, level stretch of soil.
