Description

Five adults stand along the back wall of a plain room, in front of a patterned curtain with a candle wreath and evergreen branches. At a table covered with a striped cloth, a figure in a fur-trimmed garment sits beside a basket and parcels, with an oil lamp with a glass shade in the centre. A child in a light shirt sits at the right edge, holding a paper or book.
