Stones and a staircase during excavation at Vouni

Description
A deep excavation trench cuts diagonally through the ground, with its cut earth walls rough and pebbly. At the far end, a row of large dressed stone blocks is partly exposed, and beyond them a flight of stone steps rises across the upper background. Heaps of excavated stone and rubble lie on the right and left edges of the frame.
