Pottery White Painted I jug (L.408.44)

Description

A pottery jug with a rounded body, a tall neck, a trefoil-like lip and a strap handle rising above the rim. Dark painted bands run around the neck and shoulder, with a white zone and a hatched motif on the shoulder, and two thin white lines above a broad dark band around the lower body. The photograph shows the jug alone against a plain pale background, with a ring foot at the base and some chips and surface marks visible.
