Digging through brown earth below 9.05 we find a change to redder earth/ at 9.30. The stone tumble continues on down. Dig below 9.30 and find very firm clayey earth at 9.45. The tumble still continues. Photo Bam 39:87 at 9.45.

4-5-39 Dig through the 9.45 level and find the sandy grey earth which lies over a chavara floor, at 9.48. There is a light grey mud facing on the E. wall at this level.

8-5-39 We have dug below the 9.48 level, finding a chavara plaster floor at 9.44 (N) = 9.49 (S.) The southern part rises, dropping sharply in the last meter to the north. This seems to be due to settling over a filled tomb. Photo Bam. 39.147 at 9.44 = 9.49
