Margin left: 1.5.39

21:8 (from p. 135) was a footing trench, filled with loose red earth, sunk from 8.25. This goes to the xapapa floor. The floor goes under the wall, and thus probably antedates it.

Margin left: 2.5.39

Dig below the 8.25 level in the south, through gritty red earth, finding a consistent grey level at 8.30. The S. wall of 21:8 lies on the red earth of the 8.25 level. W. of the end of the S. wall, a very gritty brown level slopes down over the 8.25 + 8.30 levels, cutting them.

A small pit is cleared in the S-E. It contained loose grey earth at least from 8.25. It has a floor of xapapa plaster at 8.40.

A large pit is cleared along the east wall, and part of a smaller one at the N.E. Both contained reddish-grey earth.

Several stones lie in grey-brown earth in the mouth of a pit in the N-W. At 0.70 the earth changes to dark greenish, higher in the center.
