Description

A bearded man stands at the centre, bare-chested and wearing a draped cloak, holding a rope tied to the first of three oxen. The oxen have harnesses and move to the right across a pale ground. At the left edge, two figures wearing wreaths sit or stand near a partly legible inscription. Cracks and wear show across the tesserae.

English

A floor mosaic at the Paphos Archaeological Park shows a bearded man in a draped cloak leading a team of oxen to the right. The Greek lettering above him reads ΙΚΑΡΙΟΣ, and a second inscription, partly legible, sits to the left.
