    Visited Cyprus in June 1989 for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's inquiry into the island's cultural heritage.

    Presented his 'Information Memorandum' (published as 'Information Report on the Cultural Heritage of Cyprus', PACE Document 6079). It notes UNESCO's inaction on the north, that Dalibard's 1975 report was unpublished, and that damage in the north was mostly looting linked to the international market in illegally exported art, with more organised looting of selected targets between 1977 and 1982.
