Life and work

    Siegfried Loeschcke obtained pieces for the Humboldt University collection, Berlin, whose stated origin is 'KH Smyrna Whitall und von Lennep, KH Athen'. The collection held 4 ceramics (Early Cypriot, Cypro-Archaic) and 2 terracottas, lost as war losses in the Second World War. Recke does not say which pieces came from Whitall.
