Stavrini Constantinou
fl. 1968 · Cyprus
Active in 1968. Child of Constanti Thoma Pishiali.
Life and work
- 1968Oral informant, with her sister Theonitsa Constantinou: told Costas Kyrkos that their father, Constantis Thoma Pisiali, a stone-cutter at Lambousa, found 36 silver spoons, 36 forks and 36 knives and exchanged them from time to time for food at grocers in Karavas and Yerolakkos, who sold them to a well-known jeweller in Nicosia who sold them by weight. The date they gave, 1902, is the part judged confused by the Stylianous. Merrillees (2009) finds the recollection essentially correct, with the 1897 date from the 1898 letter. Andreas Stylianou later called them 'two elderly ladies' with a vague recollection.
