    In Alley's cross-examination as summarised by The Art Amateur, Alley said Di Cesnola told him 'There is some one in the museum giving information to that Frenchman', that 'a man named Rooney had also insinuated that I carried news to Feuardent', and that he (Alley) wrote a note positively denying it. This is the only mention of Rooney in the five trial reports on disk.
