- 1884Marangou: after 21 consecutive days of witnesses, on the 21st day Olin A. Warner, a sculptor, said that in his view the restoration of the Venus was the work of two different people; asked by Bangs how he knew, he answered 'Because I find six toes on one foot and five on the other'. The remark fed the cartoons of the six-toed Aphrodite.
