    As Keeper of Archaeology in the City of Birmingham Museum he helped H. W. Catling (with John Ruffle) to study the Kouklia tomb material that had come to Birmingham from the Liverpool excavations at Kouklia; this part of the finds had been divided among Liverpool, Birmingham, St Andrews and (for Asproyi Tomb IV) the Nicholson Museum, Sydney, under the pre-1960 Cyprus Antiquities legislation.
