- June 1885Ohnefalsch-Richter dug in June 1885 on ground belonging to 'the Turk Mullah Mehemed' east of Polis, where he made his most important discoveries (kylikes of Chachrylion and Hermaios, alabastron of Pasiades, marble torso).

- 1885–1886The land passed out of his hands: Smith says J. W. Williamson put up the money to buy the land from Mehemed; Ohnefalsch-Richter says that after the 1886 excavation it passed into Williamson's possession and was marked on the map as his vineyard.
