Lord Ripon

fl. 1892–1895 · United Kingdom

British colonial official, active 1892–1895.

Life and work

  1. January 1894
Documents of January 1894 show Lord Ripon favoured granting a permit to the Germans (for Ohnefalsch-Richter's new campaign at Dali/Idalion); in February 1894 the Foreign Office asked which part of the Dali land Richter proposed to excavate, since part of the site was reserved by the Cyprus Government, and noted that he could not excavate on more than one site or in more than one village at the same time.
