    Botanist on F. de Saulcy's expedition to the Dead Sea and Syria-Palestine (left Marseille September 1849); the expedition stopped in Cyprus and collected terracotta figurines and a statue of an offering-bearer holding a small bull, later published by A. de Longpérier (1855).
