    At the Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies, 'Mr. Howorth ... took the opportunity of protesting against the permission to excavate at Idalium having been granted to the Germans by the High Commissioner of Cyprus'; the Chairman replied that the Cyprus Exploration Fund committee would inquire at once.
