Life and work
- 1882Asked by President John Taylor Johnston of the Metropolitan Museum to examine the two contested statues in the Cesnola Cypriot collection during the Feuardent controversy. According to Marangou he reported that their destruction would be a small price for vindicating the collection and destroying its accusers, as they had little artistic and no archaeological value.
