Life and work
- 1893Sold the Imperial Hermitage a group of Cypriot Archaic limestone and terracotta figurines and one painted vase. He told the Keeper of Antiquities, G. von Kieseritzky, that the pieces 'were found in the islands of Cnidos, Calymnos and in other sites of Asia Minor'; the 2005 catalogue treats the objects as Cypriote and records the provenance only as 'said to be from Cnidos or Calymnos'.
