    Its owner, the Greek merchant Georgos Koutsourakis, sold several Cypriot Archaic works (limestone and terracotta figurines and one painted vase) to the Imperial Hermitage, telling Keeper G. von Kieseritzky they were found at Cnidos, Calymnos and other sites in Asia Minor. Catalogue entries give 'said to be from Cnidos or Calymnos'.
