Life and work

  1. 1880
Credited by Ohnefalsch-Richter with first recognising the Larnaca (Skala) marble statuette group as a representation of Artemis; Ohnefalsch-Richter cites Archäologische Zeitung 1880, p. 184 and pl. 17 for it. The group was found in April 1880 in a garden at Larnaka Skala.

  2. 1884
Per Ohnefalsch-Richter, the group was still unsold in Paris in 1884 'because Friedlander had declared that it was a Roman copy'; Longpérier had seen and passed over it, and Feuardent is named next in the same passage.
