- c. 1894In his History of Cyprus reported on the Amathus antiquities: while the British Museum dug at Amathus, G. Frangoudes, Greek Cypriot member of the Legislative Council, asked the colonial government about the permit granted to the Museum.

- c. 1896Quoted (Istoria tis Nisou Kiprou, vol. II, p. 879) on the Ottoman rule that finds were shared in thirds among government, landowner and explorer, and on the British Museum's Enkomi dig: the Turkish landowner Suleiman, who allowed excavation without compensation, was presented at the end with two shillings, which he refused. The date of the dig is not given in the passage.

II) as stating that the 'one third' of the very rich Enkomi excavations given to the Cyprus Museum 'was contained in a box; a few unworthy objects', ending 'Shame on them for such a huge theft and the accompanying lies'; Marangou places this in her account of the colonial government's rejection of the Legislative Council's attempts at an antiquities law, before the 1905 law.
