Life and work
- 1904–1906Englishman living in Cyprus; later published My Experiences of the Island of Cyprus (London, 1906 per Marangou's bibliography).
- 1906My Experiences of the Island of Cyprus. Quoting Sir Samuel Baker, he departed from Baker's praise of Cesnola and wrote that Cesnola and his contemporaries dug as "treasure seekers" for the antiquities market rather than scientifically, so that knowledge of the ancient cities was "principally a matter of guess-work".
