Life and work
- 1874–1876'An artist called Rawson' accompanied Cesnola on the dig at Salamis to draw sketches of tombs, churches etc.; Cesnola told Hitchcock the artist was in Cyprus drawing sketches for the planned book.
- 1874–1877Author Marangou states that the only images of the antiquities found were made by the illustrator A. L. Rawson, for the requirements of Cesnola's book, not for science; the objects were laid on a flat surface and some were photographed by Cesnola himself.
- 29 December 1877Engraving signed A. L. Rawson of 'General Cesnola during excavations in Cyprus' appeared in Harper's Weekly, 29 December 1877.
