Graduate students working on the archaeology and culture of Cyprus have until 7 December 2026 to apply for three fellowships from the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) in Nicosia. All three are open to any nationality, and every holder must live at the institute for part of the award.

The Danielle Parks Memorial Fellowship pays US $3,500 towards the cost of reaching Cyprus and staying there, CAARI's own rooms included. Any subject that touches Cypriot archaeology and culture qualifies, though CAARI particularly wants applicants who study the Hellenistic and Roman island. The holder gives a talk at the institute during the stay. Parks, who wrote The Roman Coinage of Cyprus (Nicosia, 2004) and directed excavations at the Amathus Gate Cemetery at Amathus, first came to the island as an O'Donovan Fellow; she died in 2007, still a young scholar.

The Helena Wylde Swiny and Stuart Swiny Fellowship, named for Helena Wylde Swiny and Stuart Swiny, is a single grant of US $3,500. It is limited to students enrolled at a college or university in the United States or Canada, whose project either belongs to a field project already running in Cyprus or needs work on the island itself.

The Anita Cecil O'Donovan Fellowship, a single grant of US $2000, accepts students from a graduate programme in any country for research on the archaeology or culture of Cyprus. Both it and the Swiny award go towards research time at CAARI, travel and accommodation.

Fellows also write a report for the CAARI newsletter. Application forms sit in the grant portal of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), reached from CAARI's fellowships page.
