    Sigurd Curman, Sweden's King's Custodian of Antiquities, requested permission from the Cyprus authorities for a Swedish archaeological expedition for the 'scientific exploration of its prehistory and history'. Acquiring objects for Swedish museum collections was also a priority.

    The Board co-issued the exhibition catalogue 'Före Fidias' (Westholm 1941, Riksantikvarieämbetets och Statens Historiska Museums Utställningar Nr 3); Westholm was an SCE member. Its Cypriot content is not established here.
