Cobham's Cypriot collection (c. 200 pieces per Wikipedia) plus Idalion pieces from Lang (1882); Kiely calls the Greek and Cypriot holdings extensive (2017)
History
- 1918Claude Delaval Cobham's Cypriot collection was donated by his nephew to the museum because of Cobham's local connections.
- c. 2010Refurbished Ancient Worlds Gallery shows a sizeable range of Cypriot objects, many from the Cobham collection, alongside Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Near Eastern items; the A. G. Leventis Foundation sponsored a project to conserve and digitise the Greek and Cypriot holdings (Kiely gives no date; read as 'recent' in 2017).
