    The Anthropological-Ethnographic Department received 27 Cypriot finds (pottery, bronze, glass) from Consul Adolf Schulz of Beirut (English text 'received'; sale or gift not stated).

    Max Ohnefalsch-Richter, on his first Central European tour as a dealer, sold the department 57 archaeological objects, mainly duplicates from Ayia Paraskevi (Bronze Age vases).

    54 tomb objects from Ayia Paraskevi, Dhali, Alambra and Tamassos from Ohnefalsch-Richter (German text 'erworben', English text 'given') entered the department, together with ethnographic objects, on his return journey when he began his Vienna lecture series on Cyprus. Online records show five Prehistoric Department pieces of 1890 (e.g. V 3260 Base Ring idol, V 3259 plank idol fragment).
