Cavagnis Lacerenza

Milan, Italy · founded 2020

Milan gallery of ancient and European sculpture opened in 2020 by Giulia Cavagnis and Giovanni Lacerenza, a BRAFA and TEFAF exhibitor, with an Archaic Cypriot votary head.

About

Two dealers from Sotheby's London and Brun Fine Art opened this Milan gallery in 2020. Giulia Cavagnis spent five years as a specialist in Ancient Sculpture at Sotheby's London, and Giovanni Lacerenza was Mayfair Director at Brun Fine Art2. The gallery's own pages give no founding year; Il Giornale dell'Arte reports that the physical gallery opened in 20205. It describes itself as specialising in ancient classical art, European sculpture and works of art, and it advises collectors on acquisitions2. Its "10 under 10" exhibitions show ancient works under EUR 10,0003,5.

The gallery lists fairs from Milano Open Galleries in October 2021 and Modenantiquaria in 2022 to BRAFA in June 2022 and again in January and February 2023, TEFAF Maastricht Showcase in March 2024 and Habitat III at Heusden in November 20243,7. BRAFA's 2026 exhibitor directory lists it under the name Cavagnis Lacerenza Fine Art6.

Its Ancient Art category holds 18 items, one of them Cypriot9. That piece is a "Cypriot Head of a Votary" of the Archaic period, dated to the late 6th or early 5th century BC, in limestone and 13.5 cm high. The provenance printed is Louis de Clercq of Paris (1836 to 1901), then Nicolas Koutoulakis of Paris and Geneva (1910 to 1996), with the published reference de Ridder, Collection de Clercq V (1908), no. 711. The same head is offered through 1stDibs from the Milan gallery4.

The Cypriot collection

Cypriot material is marginal: of 18 items in the gallery's Ancient Art category in 2026, one is Cypriot (an Archaic limestone votary head); a Cypriot-text search of the site returned nothing else (2026)
