The project
In July and August 2023 the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus excavated a tomb exposed during sewerage works in the Jamouda area of Tzamouda; the Cyprus Mail reported it as a Bronze Age tomb of the 14th to 11th centuries BC, with large parts of it uncovered1. In November a second tomb surfaced during preparatory work by the water board in the Tziamouda area2. The Department stopped the works, cordoned off the area and prepared an investigative excavation2.
