The project
A rescue excavation for the Department of Antiquities in 1999 dealt with a small oval chamber tomb or pit grave of Early Cypriot date at Psematismenos-Trelloukkas, the upper part of which bulldozing had removed1. A small number of Red Polished vessels, a single whetstone and disturbed skeletal remains were recovered1. Lorentz identifies it as tomb 1/99, and notes two sets of skeletal elements marked A and B on the plan2. She reports that the remains reached the laboratory commingled, with no context beyond the tomb number and no field records or plans to distinguish primary from secondary burials2.
