The project
In 1962 Kyriakos Nicolaou, working for the Department of Antiquities, explored Cape Greco, the ancient Pedalion, while investigating sculpture at the locality of Tartsia1,2. From the prominent hill overlooking the sea to the south, which he calls Tiani, he collected flint implements, stone axeheads and stone vessels1. He identified Tiani with the site described by Strabo1. He reported the work in Archaeological Reports in 19661.
