The project
Pebble and opus tesseratum mosaics were uncovered in 1995 on the west hill of Katalymata ton Plakoton1. Eleni Procopiou investigated the site between 1995 and 1996, in collaboration with volunteers from the Western Sovereign Base Area Archaeological Society and the RAF Archaeological Unit1. She says the mosaics seem to belong to isolated structures, probably related to the large complex but not immediately connected with it1.
