Standing woman

Standing woman statuette of a standing, clad female figure.Formed in a model;hollow, with a large hole in the back. The back is undecored. The model was already quite worn out.The type of a female terracotta statuette was widespread.Such figures are hollow, shaped in a model, draped with a heavy wrinkle throw and richly hung with ears and necklaces as well as with seals, which may indicate the hieratical character of the representation.Usually such figures have angled both arms and support their breasts.A large number of statuettes This type was in a sanctuary near Achna from the 6th century BC.Chr. Discovered. They were often referred to as priests of Artemis, but this is by no means secured.Bernhard-Walcher and others, the Cypricer Antique Collection in the KHM.Collection catalogs of the KHM Vol. 2, Vienna 1999 (V.
