Head from a votive statue

Head from a votive statue: A small head of a young boy from a votive statuette of the temple boy type. The face has a distinct smile, the eyes are wide and well shaped with low arching eye brows and a well defined and perhaps pointed nose. There are traces of red colour on the eyes, ears and one of the cheeks. The hair at the crown of the head has a central parting that runs across the back of the head. There is a thick line across athe forehead that may have been a now very faded wreath of leaves. There is a very deep crack running all around the face and separating it from the back of the head. The two parts were glued together. (Overall: 120 mm x 100 mm x 115 mm; 4 3/4 in x 3 15/16 in x 4 1/2 in) - Made of Limestone Culture: Cypriot
