Priestess Figurine
Description: | Terracotta figurine of a female clasping her breasts, probably a votary or priestess; hollow, mould-made, back plain (assembly hole); she is standing frontally on a low base; head mostly missing with only a small part of the lower face extant; she wears an ankle-length robe (large feet visible) over which are several additional garments and over-folds including a veil over her head; the ends of two, originally fringed, maniples are visible below one of the upper garments; around the neck are the remains, very worn, of at least three elaborate necklaces, the lowest one of which supports a large disc pendant hanging between the breasts; further items of jewellery hang below the breasts, including several rings supporting seal stones or similar object; made of buff clay with traces of red paint.
