Nicosia. Tel. to Odle. Then talk with Dikaios,
acting Director Antiquities. I try to make him
understand that he must now push his
publication. and that I am embarrassed not to know
his finds. He does not want to be pressed. But
I tell him that the main argument for having
obtained the Combined Expedition was precise-
ly to accelerate the exploration of the site, this-
consists of excavation + publication. He
claims to have made mistakes because I in-
sisted too much at the start on rapid publication; he admits
thus that he had to change his mind, precisely
about the dating that I reproached him for.
