Mycenaean. That is not surprising here the sub-Mycenaean settlement is sparse at first and situated so close to the surface that little remains of it very few traces.

6 Dec. Visit to the Pierides collection at Larnaca. We take a photo of a stirrup vase in pale yellow clay without slip, decorated with a painted decoration in brown. Clay and paint matt. Hatching, streaks and fish-scale pattern. It looks like a mixture of reminiscence Syrian and already geometric influences. D All dominated by the Mycenaean. Dikaios places this after the invasion of the Achaeans Sea Peoples in the XIIe c. ( Fin Au XIIIe if one accepts the chronology Bérard) Very important for us because we have some comparable analogous sherds, but coming from vessels having other shapes. Also seen bowls in grey clay, similar to those of our "Hittite" sherds. This would date according to Dikaios from the beginning of the Iron Age.
