Continued from p. _96 bis._

cf. ci dessuscf. p 29, 31 etc.… a sealed deposit which was protected à by the foundations of stones (in truth gappy in places). The pottery above the floor is rough ware (recall that we had found Mycenaean there late cf above p. ) This one is contemporary with the fire. Below the floor, therefore necessarily before the fire I find a fragment of vase Mycenaean fine and painted which could be of the 14th c. and fragments of Cypriot bowls of the 2nd style. Here then for the 1st time this year a confirmation very clear of what we found and established last year: a fire in full Mycenaean period in the Northern Quarter of Alasia-Enkomi. Relation of the burnt floor to the slabs: 15 to 20 cm of difference. Age of the floor below? Il faudra faire nettoyer au Musée les burnt sherds, some bands of colour appear, already; et témoignent which seem to attest by their quality that we are indeed in the period Mycenaean. cf vases 5. no. 3887 et sq.

Q.N.5B Looking at the floor at 0.40 to the North of the Palace, I find the same impression.
