An issue of 100 drams of four per person for householders will be made in the District towns during September.
Householders in all district towns should apply to their grocers for this ration as from 15th September. The price is 8½p. an oke.
The Imprisoned T.U. Leaders
The District Trade Unio n Committee of Nicosia–Kyreni a in conformity with the resolution of the Panoyprian Labour Federation, has organised the following rallies in favour of the release of the 18 imprisoned Trade Union leaders.
There are a number of vacancies for suitable candidates to commence their training in October 1945.
Applicants, who should have completed their elementary education, will be required to pass a simple examination in Greek and Arithmetic which will be held at the Orta Mektep, formerly the Victoria Girl's School. Eski Sarayi Street, Ayia Sophia Quarter, Nicosia, on Wednesday, 25th September, commencing at 7.30 a.m.
A knowledge of English will be an additional qualification but is not essential.
Apprentices selected will be given a five years course of training, as moulders blacksmiths, pattern-makers, welders, electricians and metal workers.
The practical training will be given in the workshops of the Public Works Department and of certain private firms: theoretical instruction will be given in the Appren-
