Handwritten: Dear Schaeffer,
I am glad to hear that work progresses satisfactorily on the wall. I enclose a letter to the Divisional Engineer, which I hope will be of some assistance.
Handwritten: Yours sincerely,
I have explained to him that we want him to prepare an appendix for our Enkomi volume on our inscribed material. It seems that Dikaios did not make this clear in the letter he left for Masson.
I have written to Plenderleith asking that, if the ingots and tablets are still with him when he gets my letter, he should keep them until you arrange to get Masson over to London to study them. I think in view of the difficulty Plenderleith encountered in getting the silver bowl to Paris through diplomatic channels I can hardly ask him to repeat the experience. I hope, however, these things may have already left the British Museum, in which case Masson will see them here before he leaves.
I shall attend to the matter of the instruments which your wife is bringing and trust she has no difficulty.
I am
