Dear M. Schaeffer,

Glad to get a telegram this morning about the arrival of the silver bowl and the tablet found by Dikaios. The telegram was very welcome, and I hope to hear more from you soon about the find, which seems to be of great importance. [illegible]

I am writing this to you in the hope that you will be able to give me some idea of the contents of the tablet and of the date of the bowl. I have seen the photographs and it seems to me that the inscription is of considerable interest. [illegible]

I am sending a copy of my notes on the bowl under separate cover, and I hope that you will find them useful for the publication. [illegible]

Yours very sincerely,
