Rum 511/9Immediately north-west of room 4 lies room 5, of roughly square plan (see the sketch). The rails are extended up to this room and the earth is carried out to the east. So that the earth layers can be studied more securely, this room is excavated with angular sections left standing (marked with dotted lines on the sketch). The layers are considerably rather interesting. In section a) the conditions are namely the following: Nearest the horizontal floor there is a fairly homogeneous layer of dark brown colour. Above this layer lies a less thick do of alternating mainly dark colour but with numerous inserted more or less deformed pieces of light green mudbricks. Above this layer follows then a level of completely intact large light green mudbricks lying in a horizontal band sloping slightly in towards the wall toward room 2, and above these another similar though considerably damaged level, and at the top finally the dark surface layer ([illegible])
