… nothing else of interest was observed in the earth. In the mixed fill of dark and light mud-brick debris, the pottery was collectedinsertion. The sherds recovered filled only two boxes and consisted for the most part of unpainted pithos pottery. Side by side with this were also found black-varnished sherds and a few painted sherds of Late Geometric - Early Archaic date, exactly like those previously found under the cement floor beside the gateway in room 1. The smaller of the sherds in room 4 probably derive from the mud-brick. (Cf. the situation in trial trench 1)
No securely established floor level in room 4 exists. The rock is rough, completely unworked over the whole room. A small horizontal stump of gypsum beside one of the wall-footings could possibly be interpreted as the remains of a gypsum floor. The rock is however in many places in the room at a higher level than this.
