161162163.18/5- 19/5 During these days the area east and south of the stepped rooms is crossed by a grid system of trenches laid out so that, should anything be preserved of architecture connected with the stepped rooms, this ought to be found . In the process a hard-to-interpret system of walls and floors is crossed and cut, which gives the impression av of deriving from badly destroyed houses. It is decided that the whole area shall be uncovered, therefore the description is postponed until greater clarity and context have been reached. – In the same layer as the objects from the previous day, there are found further a larger bronze axe 161 and a coarse whetstone 162, and furthermore a stick or spear-point of bronze 163.

20/5Sunday. Visit by Sjöqvist.
