… very damaged remains of a cement floor and further down, the sloping uneven rock is exposed. Opposite the epistates' hut, however, the earth becomes deeper and here an oven-like structure is found, which will be described later after a closer clearing.

246.247.9/6The storehouse buildings in the northwest are to be made the object of closer investigations. On 19/4 a large pithos standing in the corner of one of the cut storeroom chambers had been found in trial trench 1. This pithos is taken out and given the number 246. Thereafter trial trench 1 is extended further in the direction of Petra until the outer wall of the storeroom is cut. 3 m from the north wall and c 10 cm above the floor, a cup-shaped vessel (lamp?) of stone 247 is found here. The earth layers have the same character throughout as previously described (19/4), but a slight collapse slope is observed in the direction of the sea.
